Over in the Meadow (First Little Golden Book)
Published in Hardcover by Golden Books Pub Co Inc (October, 2001)
Author: Golden Books
Average review score:

So much more than just another children's book ...
Of all the books my 3 children and I shared, this was our absolute favorite. The charming rhymes were easy for my children to quickly learn. And the funnest part of all: we'd take turns acting out the characters in the book! I can still see my little Ronnie as a lizard while he "basked all day by the old mossy gate". (Anyone who's read the story knows exactly what I mean...) Our ragged, original version is now nearly 20 years old but I've purchased new copies to give my children so they can cherish the story all over again with their own children.

The Pagemaster (Golden Look-Look Books)
Published in Paperback by Golden Books Pub Co Inc (October, 1994)
Authors: Parker Smith, David Kirschner, David A. Casci, Ernie Contreras, Vaccaro Associates, and Geppy Vaccaro
Average review score:

A year 4 class opinion of The Pagemaster
Richard Tyler is scared 10 year old boy. After stumbling into the library during a storm, he meets the Pagemaster and explores the world of fiction books with three companions, Adventure, Fantasy and Horror. Richard deals with his many phobias through his journey from Fiction A-Z, encountering characters of famous stories. The illustrations were brilliant, colourful, and contained lots of detail which made them interesting. The story was well paced with lots of action which made it enjoyable to read.

Parent Care Survival Guide: Helping Your Folks Through the Not-So-Golden Years
Published in Paperback by Barrons Educational Series (February, 1993)
Authors: Enid Pritikin and Trudy Reece
Average review score:

An excellent book on elderly issues.
This is a wonderful book. It should be required reading for anyone who's parents have reached the age where many important and difficult decisions must be made about life style, health care, finances, etc. Read it before you have a crisis situation. May it stay in print forever!

The Parents' Party Book: Fun and Fabulous Theme Birthday Parties for Children 2 to 8 Years Old (Golden Books Parents Library)
Published in Paperback by Golden Books Pub Co (Adult) (May, 2000)
Authors: Eleanor Levie and Parents Magazine
Average review score:

A standout book for kids' party planning.
As an elementary teacher and a parent, I've developed a collection of party planning books for kid's parties. This is the book I return to again and again for the best suggestions. There are so many creative ideas for decorations, menus, games and party favors. Some of my favorites include the Rainbow party (a big hit for toddlers!), the Firefighter party (including fun games involving squirting targets with a garden hose), and the Space party (where the favor bags are black bags poked with constellation holes and a flashlight!).

Passenger Trains of Yesteryear: Chicago Westbound (Classic Trains Continues the Golden Years Series)
Published in Paperback by Kalmbach Publishing Company (December, 2001)
Author: Joseph Welsh

Absolutely awesome!!
Being born much too late to witness the glory years of the railroad, I love books which show what the good old days looked like. Some of the scenes in the book are familar to me, and that also adds to the book's appeal. This book shows both the machines and the people affiliated with the railraod. Highly recommended.

Pat the Bunny
Published in Hardcover by Golden Books Family Entertainment (September, 1999)
Author: Golden Books
Average review score:

Truly a classic
Unless someone has changed the inside of this book, it is the same I had when I was very small, 60 years ago. It may well have been one of the first interactive books for toddlers. It has a mirror to look in, Daddy's scratchy face to feel, the bunny to pat, and I've forgotten what else. I would hate to even guess how many times our copy of that book was read. It lasted through us three girls and I was amazed to find it still mostly intact when I went home to visit, as an adult.

Pat the Bunny Teether Book: Yummy Colors
Published in Hardcover by Golden Books Pub Co Inc (November, 2001)
Author: Golden Books
Average review score:

My 6 month old LOVES this book!
What can I say, we have (probably) 20 books suitable for a baby and she LOVES this one. It's different from the other Pat The Bunny books in that it has BOLD vivid monochromatic colors. Each page features a single color (e.g. RED apples) describing a single fruit. This board book also has a rubberized outer rim that's perfect for teething on (in case you're tired of wiping paper residue off your child's mouth). Highly recommended.

Pearls from the Golden Cabinet: The Practitioner's Guide to the Use of Chinese Herbs and Traditional Formulas
Published in Paperback by Oriental Healing Arts Institute (November, 1988)
Author: Subhuti Dharmananda
Average review score:

A must-have compendium of classical formulas.
Despite the rough biding and slightly quirky format, this book is beautifully endowed with the most important classical formulae used in clinical practice. A solid discussion of representative formulae from each therapeutic category including very important formula modifications. Also provided with each formula are western disease indications according to what has been supported by modern research. This book excellently illustrates basic introductory information on tongue and pulse diagnosis, the 6 stages and (zang) organ pathologies. In all, it's a scholarly work worthy of "must-have" status.
